An Englewood man stole around $20,000 worth of patient payments from the doctor’s office where he worked, according to authorities.
Sebastian Sarria, 24, was arrested Thursday after a Mahwah doctor alerted authorities to a suspected credit card fraud in September, according to a release from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.
Detectives determined that Sarria voided patient credit card payments and reprocessed them on an app so he could transfer the money to his personal bank account, according to the prosecutor’s office.
Sarria was charged with computer-related theft, theft by deception and fraudulent use of credit cards, according to the prosecutor’s office.
